For cloudy days

Seems winter is not done with us yet and to be honest we could do with some rain, we haven’t had any for over 75 days and some parts of the country are already talking about the level of reservoirs and drought yet it’s only February. In Galicia one of the reservoirs is so low that a ghost village has appeared from the depths. Whilst my view from my casa is layered and misty my natural instinct is to cosy up. On top of all that I am not too chipper and have been laid up in bed for a few days so am pulling the quilts and duvets close, surrounding myself with big fat pillows, woolly socks and warm drinks.

This weather makes me think of comfy sofas, with lots of blankets and throws, layers upon layers in the decor, the iron bedsteads of our childhood, floral prints and embroidered pieces that my gran would sit and pore over on a wet Sunday. My home is more light and bright and more modern villa but this time of year does have me hankering after a sweet cottage with sloping ceilings and beams, cluttered walls of pictures and photos, distressed floorboards and thick rag rugs. The whole thing is like one big comfort blanket.

What is your go to place when you are feeling you need to be cosy?
