On the hunt – October

It’s been a super busy month of reuniting with my lovely family, working with friends and generally preparing for autumn/winter and still looking for the dream (or near as damn it dream) pad waiting for us down Tarragona way. That hasn’t stopped me saving ideas for my vision to my Pinterest, ha ha ha. Ah yes if only I could pluck my new casa out of my Pinterest heaven it would be all so easy.

I love Catalan ceilings with their arches and this framed doorway really speaks volumes to me with its clean lines and use of natural materials.

I have always preferred older properties to new, even though they come with their own set of issues, not least constant repairs or renovations. However, having lived in a relatively new square box of a build for the last seven years I have to say that comes with its own needs for keep up. Made me even more determined to find a more traditional property that I can mix new and modern ideas in rather than the other way round.

Colour is another key element. I love the soft whites used in interiors here pared with colours taken from the surrounding area. Dusky Olive with that silvery grey under shade, all shades of stone, pale and powdery lavendar, washed out bluey grey. The natural tones of almond, olive and carob wood. I will be collecting all these ideas in my New Casa board on Pinterest if you are looking for Mediterranean inspiration just click the link I am adding to it all the time.

Off now to continue with my decluttering and sorting, can’t move anywhere if I don’t downsize my wardrobes and cupboards!
