Shades of Blue

I think I have finally settled on a colour for the upstairs lounge and dining room. It’s called Swedish Blue and has a definite warm grey tone to it. It is a similar tone to the antique French transferware plates that are so readily available here.

We bought a sisal rug from Ikea which is in the downstairs lounge so I would like to get the same for up here, it will add some connection and continuity to the two spaces. Plus it is super hardwearing and the cats like to use it as a scratching pad with no visible damage.

Am going to be keeping my eye out for some animal prints, not necessarily birds but I like the antique natural history style and fancy having a gallery wall above the sofa. I already have some lovely linen and my curtains are the same plain colour as the sisal matting so it should all come together nicely. Now all I have to do is source and paint! Watch this space.
