TopCat Radio Christmas Fair – Tortosa

Here are all the details of my latest collaboration with TopCat Radio in Tortosa, helping with organising and marketing their first Christmas Fair.

TopCat Radio is an online radio station started during Covid to connect the wider English speaking commuity who were isolated. A socio organisation, so basically a social entrprise and none profit making, it has been funded by two main donors and occasional donation. So this Fair will be a fundraising event to keep the station going forward. If it is a success then we may well be looking at future similar events.

As well as raising much needed funds which pay for everything from studio space, licencing, insurances etc we will also be supporting a local animal charity and another yet to be announced local services charity.

I started searching for creative folk to take part less than a month ago with an initial target of 30 stalls and have been truly amazed at the response. We are very nearly at capacity! It would be lovely to get more.

Now we are just waiting for confirmation on venue and dates from the Ajuntament at that point I want to start approaching local small owner managed businesses selling local produce so we can offer visitors to the fair a good range of products suitable as gifts for adults, children, pets and the home and table as well as decorations and food and drink for the seasons festivities.

As this is a charity event we are also looking for Volunteers to help us manage on the day in areas such as table and counter service in our cafe. We would also like to set up a children’s activity area so  anyone who wants to promote their child entertainment services can take part at no cost in return for short sessions that could be storytime, facepainting, balloon blowing obviously any activity that involves materials you can make a charge for! Ideas welcome!!

We also are collecting bottle of all shapes sizes and contents for the Tombolla and donations for the Raffle. You can message me direct using the contact form above or by Direct Message on The Pop-Up Artisan Market  if you have any services to offer and we will be eternally grateful!

In addition to the list of  products we can approve to be sold we would also like to add any small local businesses that sell local produce eg honey and beekeeping related products, olive oil and olive related products, wines, spirits and alcoholic beverages produced locally using local fruits and grains, bread makers, cheese and cured meats, nuts and nut butters and of particular interest vegetarian and vegan products from local providers. Our aim is to make this a regional fair supportive of local businesses so help us help them and spread the word by sharing our social media and blog posts.
