Spring Cleaning

It’s been a while but as I am sorting my wardrobes out prior to getting ready for our house move am fixated on clothes, which to keep, which to give away, which to sell. This time of year is really a betwixt and between, one day am in t-shirts and flip flops the next am throwing a fat woolly jumper over the top. So my little offering today is layer up and nothing wrong with wearing boots, especially cute little ankle boots (the barefoot kind for me – after years of wearing flip flops I cannot squeeze my toes into anything constricting).

Love this pin tucked linen top, wear it with boots and leggings on chilly days and keep a pile of woollies ready for those chilly moments. What did granny used to say? Ne’er cast a clout until May is out. Might not be completely appropriate here in Catalunya but you get my drift. My bag de jour, pretty much every jour, has been an inexpensive black back pack with lots of zippy pockets but am definitely in the market for something a bit more messenger and capacious. I seem to cart a lot more around at this time of year, it’s all the layers.  Love this soft leather with a handy front pocket for easy access phone, purse, keys and lippy.

We interrupt this blog post to bring you another necessary accessory at this time of year (we hope – see below) the fold it up into a wee bag rain mac. I have one of these with the drop down back and hood that folds neatly into its side pocket to create a handy little parcel of a bag that fits easily into my aforementioned backpack or the soon to be acquired messenger. If travelling around a definite must for the inclement days if we ever see the like again.

Now I don’t want to bring the vibe down but we could really do with some rain, preferably at night when we are all abed but to be honest any time will do just now and I hope we don’t have to wait until St Swithins for the whole forty days and forty nights thing, I also don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade but our reservoirs are seriously depleted and they are talking about shipping water in. For tourists it might not be the best if it was during the main holidays but maybe convenient for us to get rainfall now through to say the end of March. Hopefully the rain gods are listening and I can continue with my little boots and woolly jumpers with my big capacious folding rain mac in my new big bag.
