Brunch

The posh word for getting up late, after ablutions, after tidying up and cleaning and then settling down to eat.

It’s less of a rush and more of a quiet leisurely moment.

I made brioche french toast, with greek yoghurt, raspberries and blueberries and honey. Simple and slightly sweet goodness.

No real recipe just heat up a nonstick frypan with the teeniest bit of oil, slice two big fat brioche rounds, dip in a beaten egg on both sides so they soak up all that yellow richness, pop in the pan turning to brown both sides. Finally plop some big dollops of thick greek yoghurt on each, add your berries and drizzle with honey.

I had mine with a delicate cup of earl grey no milk just as it comes. My other favourite at the moment is ginger and mint but I felt the french toast needed no distraction.
