Deck Renovations Part 2

We have two outside seating areas one on the lower deck and one off the lounge terrace, both have comfy sofas and chairs. The upstairs lounge terrace is a woven wicker affair with soft curves and padded seat and back cushions, although it is outside all year round the terrace is covered so it escapes any major inclement weather. The downstairs deck is more exposed to the elements and has a sleeker squarer black manmade woven wicker style finish so it doesn’t fall to pieces.  Both have very boring and plain cushion covers which after many washes are now worn and tatty.

Contrary to my usual muted tones I have decided to go hot mediterranean, even tropical in my colour choices. I didn’t want to go all matchy matchy, hence the mismatched heritage patterned tiles (see the last blog here). Having picked out an olive shade for the shutter doors, which are between the dining area and the seating area I wanted to echo and link the colours.

The fabric I have decided to go with is a Spoonflower design of Vintage Hummingbirds designed by Lyddie Doodles. I love the flashes of bright colour against the different green shades which correspond nicely to the green shades of the tiles and the olive paint. The other element I like is the black detailing which will tie in with the black furniture construction. It also picks up on the graphite and black of the chairs and table legs.

Might be a while before I can get cracking this is printed to order and it could be up to 20 August before it arrives but it will definitely be worth the wait.
