November

November is all about comfort – food, warmth, sunshine and Christmas prep! First up, new slippers! A year round flip flop wearer it seems nippier than usual so treated myself to a nice pair of woolly slip ons, toasty tootsies make me happy.

Nothing says comfort food more than beans on toast. After my morning routine of clean up kitchen and a general tidy round time for brunch. Baby it might be cold outside but its sunny and my  beans are like sunshine on a plate.

Trip to Llafranc for lunch on a quite warm and sunny Sunday, stroll along the small marina, sat watching the sun set behind the hotel on the hill. After a lovely seafood lunch at El TocWe, The Pop-Up Artisan Market, decided to take part in a Christmas Fair in Castello d’Empuries. Quite exciting this is our first foray as a group outside of our online presence! So far there are six of us taking part and we have a lovely range of products that should prove popular, fingers crossed!

Each Christmas Fair I take part in I try to bring a new slant to my work. I love working with textiles and my Christmas work has in the past seen, textile art machine embroidered Christmas cards so this year I’ve included a limited edition range of textile art framed pictures, I’ve brought back the peg doll fairies and whipped out my crochet hooks and created some cute and cuddly decorations.Rounded off the month with a trip to Empuriabrava to check out the location and venue. Glorious day, perfect for a stroll along the biggest beach, you can see Roses across the water.Time for a lunch outdoors, would have been a shame to waste such a warm day. Found this little French bistro, O de Vin, just off the main front road, proper bistro food, Darren went for the duck mine was lamb shank with all the trimmings. Definitely coming back here again when we get that Sunday lunch craving!Leaving you with a snapshot of my naughty big boy cat, Tinker, who knows he is not allowed on surfaces but for the next two weeks he will be obsessed with this spot. He has this habit of choosing a new place to view the world every two weeks, then off he trots to a new spot. I tell him off, lift him down and 30 seconds later up he gets again looking at me with disdain. I’ve given up I just give the spot an extra wipe every time I’m in there. Right see you on the other side, December! How did that happen!! So much to do so little time. I shall try to catch up after the Fair and before the festivities. Hasta luego compadres!
