Tea and Cosy what could be better?

41673041_2397809873562801_3187573209234931712_nThese are my latest charity shop finds just waiting to be given a wash and brush up, packed with a homemade biscuit or two and some tempting quality tea. What is missing? Aaah the cosy!

Last year I became quite addicted to crocheted cosies. I didn’t follow any patterns I just took a teapot and chain stitched around the base to get the size then increased and decreased from there until I had a cover. Then I went bonkers with the decoration whether it was crochet flowers stitched on or embroidered with wool scraps. You can see last years efforts (which sold out btw on my Christmas Stall) on this blog post.

This year I have a collection of 14 teapots waiting to be wrapped up and with my brand spanking new sewing machine I thought I would have a go at sewing cosies. There are lots of inspirations on Pinterest these are my favourites.Collage_Fotor3

Should you be sew inclined I have found a good beginners tutorial that you might want to look at and give them a go if you fancy your hand at making your own work of tea cosy art from The Seasoned Homemaker . Alternatively you can pop along to my stall at the Christmas Fair where I will be selling my wares [details coming soon]
